Frank Worthington, 54

Frank Worthington, age 54, of Sturgis, passed away Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at home.

He was born Sept. 3, 1958, in Sturgis, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Rita (Royal) Worthington.

Frank had been a resident of St. Joseph County all his life. On Oct. 19, 2002, he married Kathy Fox in Centreville.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, earning the rank of private. Frank had been employed by Interstate Trailers in Mottville for 11 years and most recently ThermaTru in Howe, Ind.

He enjoyed fishing, camping, stock car racing, go-kart racing and playing with his grandchildren. He was the rock of the family.

Surviving are his wife, Kathy; children Jeremy-J. (Katie) Merriman of Centreville, Charles “Chucky” Worthington of Sturgis, Kristy Krontz of Jackson and Jeremy “Jerm” Krontz and Carly Miller of Centreville; eight grandchildren, Rachel, Lukis, Liyah, Shaun, Maria, Ryan, Hadessah and Caylin; a brother, Steven “Pete” (Colleen) Worthington of Sturgis; two sisters, Sandy Worthington of White Pigeon and Sharon Worthington of Mottville; a sister-in-law, Nancy Worthington; friends Mike Bontrager and Bruce Christopher; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Richard and Charles; and a stepdaughter, Jessica Fox.

According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. A time of celebration of his life will be held from 1–3 p.m. Saturday at the Trinity Lutheran Church basement. Private burial of the cremains will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be directed to the family. Envelopes are available at the Hackman Family Funeral Home — Rosenberg Chapel, 807 E. Chicago Rd., Sturgis, which has been entrusted with the arrangements.
