Dennis G. Harr, 70, of White Pigeon, passed away at 11:04 p.m. March 13, 2013 at his home. He was born June 26, 1942 in Adrian to Forrest and Betty (Bales) Harr. He married Sherrie Hewitt on Oct. 14, 1967. She survives along with a son, Andrew (Michelle) Harr of Grosse Pointe Park; grandchildren, Ethan, Elise and Charlotte Harr; a brother, Lynnwood (Karen) Harr of Jackson; his mother, Betty Prange of Jonesville. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Stephanie; a brother, Ronald; and his father.
Dennis was a business owner in Michigan and was known for his exuberant laugh. He earned his bachelors degree in economics from Michigan State University and served in the U.S. Navy as an airborne radio operator. He was a former member of the Elkhart Noon Optimist Club and loved to travel. He had visited all seven continents, 58 countries and all 50 states. He enjoyed political discussions, was an I.U. Basketball fan and a cigar aficionado.
Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart, Ind., where services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday. Rev. David Hudson will officiate. Burial will be at Munith Cemetery, Munith, Mich.
