Arrest for meth

Investigators from the St. Joseph County Area Narcotics unit on Tuesday executed a search warrant on a suspected methamphetamine production lab in the 100 block of East Chicago Road in White Pigeon.

The warrant was the culmination of an ongoing investigation that began with an arrest for methamphetamine precursors earlier in the week, according to the sheriff’s department.

On scene, investigators on Wednesday found numerous components for manufacturing, as well as paraphernalia for use of methamphetamine, synthetic marijuana and marijuana.

A 55-year-old man was arrested at the scene and charged with operating and maintaining a meth lab, possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a drug house and possession of marijuana.

The suspect’s name was not released, pending arraignment.
