Wilbur Eash Jr., 74, of Centreville, Mich., passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at Three Rivers Health Hospice.
He was born on July 26, 1934, in Marcellus, a son of Wilber J. and Helen Marie (Golden) Eash. Wilbur attended Centreville Schools. He worked as a shear operator at Stoutco in Bristol, Ind. Wilbur will always be remembered for this sense of humor and joke-telling.
Surviving are his daughters, Sandra (Michael) Berry of Bristol, Brenda (Rick Harkins) Sias of Edwardsburg; a son, Tim (Penny) Eash, of White Pigeon; a brother, Samuel Eash, Centreville; three stepchildren; grandchildren Zach Gardiner, Jessica Weatherwax, Justin Sivley, Ashely Eash, Chris Sias, Michael Eash and Heather Harkin; and great grandchildren Ricky, Jenny and Alexiana Gardiner.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Peggy Eash; a son, William E. Eash; and a great-granddaughter, Gracelyn Eash.
Wilbur was a direct descendant of the Sacket family, who immigrated to the United States in the 1630s.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. March 21 at Chapel Hill Missionary Church,
14525 Chapel Hill Road, Union, with Pastor Don Matteson officiating. A luncheon will follow the service.
