Chuck O’Brien III, 40

Charles “Chuck” T. O’Brien III, of Burr Oak, passed away Sunday evening April 21, 2013, in an automobile accident.

He was born March 19, 1973, in Coldwater, a son of Charles T. O’Brien II and Marcia (Porter) Lindsey.

Chuck has been a resident of this area most all his life and was married March 17, 2005, to Cindy Long, who he had been dating for the past 21 years.

He was involved with tree-trimming and line-clearing all of his adult life and had been employed by the city of Sturgis and most recently C.C. Power where he was a line man, out of Kalkaska. He was a member of two local unions I.B.E.W. #17 and #876.

Chuck enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding his motorcycle and camping with the kids and grandchildren. He was a hard worker who enjoyed spending time with his family.

Surviving are his wife, Cindy; two daughters, Brianna O’Brien of Burr Oak and Karissa (Jaime) Sanchez of Jones; two grandchildren, Dawson and Emma Sanchez; two brothers, Daniel (Kelly) O’Brien of East Point and Joe (Moni) O’Brien of Quincy; his mother, Marcia Lindsey of Quincy; his father, Charles T. O’Brien II of Kimmel; nieces Hailey, Macenzie, Kaelyn and Ashley; nephew Bobby; and a great-niece, Leiha.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert O’Brien in Dec. 2009.

The family will receive friends and relatives from noon-1 p.m. Saturday at Hackman Family Funeral Home — Rosenberg Chapel, 807 E. Chicago Road, Sturgis. A memorial service celebrating the life of Charles “Chuck” T. O’Brien III will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, with Mr. Larry Wallman, officiating.
