Arlene Webb, 89

Arlene “Pinky” M. Webb, age 89, of Sturgis, passed away Friday, May 3, 2013, at the Sturgis Hospital emergency room.

She was born March 31, 1924, in LaGrange County, Ind., a daughter of the late Sam and Joyce (Schworm) Weiss.

Arlene had been a resident of Sturgis since 1957, moving here from Three Rivers.

On May 24, 1958, in Sturgis, she married David R. Webb.

She had been employed by Kirsch Company in Sturgis for 30 years, retiring in 1983.

After retiring, she and David spent their summers in Mikana, Wis., and she enjoyed fishing, going out to eat with family and friends, and spending a little time at the casino.

Surviving are her husband, David; two daughters, Joyce Webb of Sturgis and Jane (Robert) Paulus of LaGrange, Ind.; a son, Jeff (Karen) Owen of Sturgis; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Sam and Maynard; two sisters, Sylvia Rose and Irma Gifford.

According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating the life of Arlene “Pinky” Webb will be held at a later date, to be announced.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Hackman Family Funeral Home — Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis.
