Marilyn Miller, 82

Marilyn Ann Miller, age 82, of Colon, passed away, Tuesday, May 21, 2013.

In accordance with Marilyn’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are scheduled.

She was born May 27, 1931, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Ralph and Louise (Schafer) Black. Marilyn graduated from Fairmont High School in 1949. She married Meryl E. Miller in 1951, and they lived together in Kettering, Ohio, and Southern California for 30 years, before retiring to Michigan in 1992.

In addition to raising two beautiful and talented children, she worked for the Gentile AF Depot and later for the Los Angeles FAA Air Traffic Division, retiring in 1991. She was an active member of Airway Pioneers.

Marilyn was a voracious reader, loved housekeeping and all of her cats. She enjoyed participating in her husband’s hobbies of flying, desert motorcycling and traveling in the U.S., together they visited all 50 states. Her favorite was the island of Maui, where they celebrated their wedding anniversary for many years, and the last being when they celebrated their 50th anniversary and renewed their wedding vows on their favorite Maui beach.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Meryl; two children, Michele of Campbell, Calif., and Marc of Brentwood, Tenn.; a talented and beautiful granddaughter, Megan Ann, of Brentwood; and her two precious cats, Maui and Mocca.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Kairos Dwelling, 2945 Gull Road, Kalamazoo, MI 49048.
