Norman E. Bentley, age 82, of Punta Gorda, Florida passed away Monday March 11, 2013 in Punta Gorda.
He was born October 31, 1930 in Washington, DC son of the late George and Gwendolyn (Egert) Bentley. Norman resided in Sturgis, MI as a child.
Norman retired from the U.S. Air Force after a distinguished career which included tours in Korean and the Vietnam during the Korean War and the Vietnam Wars.
Norman was a member of the Shiners. He had many hobbies including boating, fishing, gardening, traveling, photography, antique collecting and gourmet cooking for family and friends.
He is survived by two daughters; five grandchildren and multi-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather and brother who have been laid to rest at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Sturgis, MI.
A memorial graveside service and burial of the Norman’s ashes will take place at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis. Full military honors will be conferred by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard.
