Betty Ann Keefer, age 67, of Sturgis, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.
She was born March 24, 1946, in Marshall, a daughter of the late Walter and Virginia (Goodman) Shepherd.
Betty had resided in Sturgis for the past eight years, coming from Battle Creek, where she lived most of her life.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed shopping, crossword puzzles, cooking and loved spending time with her sister Mary and nephew Jake.
Betty is survived by four sons; three sisters, Mary Jones of Sturgis, Omey Riddle of Marshall and Shirley Young of Battle Creek; a brother, Benge Shepherd of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Jim Shepherd.
The family will receive friends from noon-12:45 p.m. Tuesday at Hackman Family Funeral Homes — Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis. Funeral services celebrating the life of Betty Ann Keefer will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Pastor Eric Bergman of Victory Baptist Church in Battle Creek will officiate. Private burial will take place at Oakridge Cemetery in Marshall.
