Marjorie Bauman, 83

Marjorie Lucille Bauman, age 83, of Mendon, died Monday, June 17, 2013 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. She was born in LaGrange, IN on Dec. 22, 1929 the daughter of Stuart C. and Lennie (Diamond) Powers. Marjorie was married to Walter H. Bauman on Aug. 18, 1951 and operated a farm north of Mendon for 30 years. After retirement, they moved into the Village of Mendon, and for a time resided at Bowman House in Three Rivers. Marjorie was a homemaker who also worked as a waitress, a seamstress, and provided baby-sitting from her home.

Marjorie is survived by a daughter, Connie Lou Ware-Berg of Perry, FL; a step-daughter, Vivian Miles of Illinois; a sister, Mary Jean Krontz of Three Rivers; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and special friends, Bob and Kathy Spence of Mendon. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter in 2012; a brother, George Arthur Powers; five sisters, Lilly Shubert, Dorothy Simpson-Moore, Angie Powers, Marguerite Humphries, and Mary Rebecca Powers; and a step-son, Kenneth Bauman.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has been conducted. A graveside memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday June 29, 2013 in Prairie River Cemetery in Centreville with Rev. Clint Zehr officiating. Memorials may be directed to a charity of one’s choice. An online register is available at www.eickhofffuneralhome.com
