Richard Roush, 86

Richard Earl Roush, 86, of Lansing, passed away peacefully at his home on July 18, 2013. He was born June 26, 1927 in Benton Harbor to Harry and Louisa Roush. He graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1945. He served his country in the U.S. Navy at the end of WWII. He was a proud and loyal graduate of the University of Michigan in 1953 with a BSE (CE) degree. Richard worked for the State of Michigan Highway Department in bridge design, road design, and head of specifications. He retired in 1989.

He married the love of his life, Mary Helen Helfrich, on Feb. 4, 1951 in Ann Arbor. She survives him. He is also survived by his four children, James C. (Deborah) Roush of Ypsilanti, Richard V. (Cathy) Roush of Grand Prairie, Texas, Lori J. (Donald) Helms of Walker and Leslie L. (Randy) Gray of Lansing; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and three brothers, C. Walter (Jackie) Roush of Fall Brook, Calif., Robert D. (Margaret) Roush of Bluffton, S.C., Norman H. Roush of Grand Haven. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son-in-law, Rex Reed; and his sister-in-law, Mary Roush.

Funeral Service is 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing. Visitation will be Tuesday 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery.
