Brenda Marie Taylor, age 57, of Sturgis, Michigan passed away unexpectedly Friday afternoon August 9, 2013 at her home.
She was born August 19, 1955 in Sturgis, Michigan daughter of the late Lambert Wendell and Opal (Watson) Persing.
Brenda was a lifelong Sturgis resident and a graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1975.
On August 1, 1986 she married Gene Taylor in Centreville, Michigan.
Brenda had been employed by Sturgis Molded Products for the past 37 years. She joined the company directly after her graduation from high school.
She enjoyed mushroom hunting in northern Michigan, watching television, crossword puzzles and truly loved time spent with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Gene; two daughters: Racheal Taylor and Tricia Taylor both of Sturgis; one son: Jonathan Persing of Middlebury, Indiana; one grandson: Hunter Strang; one sister: Ronda (George) Tetzloff of Shipshewana, Indiana; three brothers: Stephen (Roxanne) Persing of Colon, Greg Persing of Burr Oak and Tracey (Sandi) Persing of Allendale and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes – Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, MI 49091, 269-651-2331. Funeral services celebrating the life of Brenda Marie Taylor will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Larry Wallman will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
