Helen Boals, 91

Helen May Boals, 91, of White Pigeon, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013, at Bowman House in Three Rivers, Mich., following an extended illness.

She was born Oct. 23, 1921, in Sturgis, Mich., the daughter of Harry and Catherine (Kuhns) Eberhard.

She was a Three Rivers resident since 2011, coming from the White Pigeon and Constantine area.

On Dec. 24, 1936, in LaGrange, Ind., she married Joseph O. Boals in LaGrange, Ind. He died Feb. 2, 2000.

She was retired from Continental Can in Three Rivers where she was a quality control inspector. She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Constantine, past treasurer of the Sunday School and a 4-H teacher in crocheting.

Surviving are three daughters, Helen Jeane (Jack) Kreitzer of Belleview, Fla., Nina (Roger) Moyer of Bristol, Ind., and Carrie (Gary) Reiling of Sturgis; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Suann and Elenaor; two brothers; two sister and her husband.

There will be no visitation. A memorial service is at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Constantine with the Pastor Rev. Dennis Smith officiating. Interment of cremains will be in Constantine Township Cemetery.

Donations may be directed to the Messiah Lutheran Church or Great Lakes Caring Hospice. Envelopes are available at the Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon, which is handling the arrangements.
