Richard Moore, 75

Richard Paul Moore, 75, of Constantine, died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, at his home, of natural causes.

He was born Jan. 21, 1938, in Rose City, a son of Paul B. and Margrete (Jones) Moore.

On May 6, 1958, he married Ruth E. Priest at Lake Orion.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was retired after being a self-employed truck driver for more than 26 years.

He was a member of the USS Leyette Association and enjoyed the outdoors, snowmobiling, four-wheelers, working on cars and talking to friends and family. He was a member of the Constantine American Legion Post #223.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth E. Moore of Constantine; three daughters, Kathy (Charles) Jarman of Vicksburg, Mich., Tammy (Steven) Denman of Constantine and Angela (David) Harrington of White Pigeon; two sons, Douglas (Tammy) Moore of Elkhart, Ind., and Mark (Kathy) Moore of Constantine; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a half-sister; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, George Moore; a granddaughter; five brothers and sisters; and a daughter-in-law, Marie Moore.

Visitation is from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon where memorial services will be at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Scott Manning, of the United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment of cremains will be at a later date in Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta. Donations may be directed to the family.
