Kenneth Wayne McKay, age 76, of Kalamazoo went to be with the Lord on Thursday Sep. 12, 2013. He was born in Moulton, AL on Dec. 4, 1936 the son of William Erby McKay and Allie Pearl (Jenkins) McKay and attended school in Alabama. He was married to Susie Demsey on Dec. 19, 1954 in Georgia. They later moved to Kalamazoo where Kenneth worked for Otto Kihm Tire Co., Anderson Windows, General Motors, and Borroughs Manufacturing, retiring in 1997. Ken was a strong Christian man who enjoyed reading the bible, taking long walks, and photography.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Susie of Kalamazoo; daughter Sherry McKay of Comstock; grandson, Toby New of Kalamazoo; great grandson, Austin Casanto of Kalamazoo; sister, Barbara Ann (Gene) French of South Bend, IN; brothers, William H. (Lucy) McKay of Kalamazoo and Larry N. (Vicky) McKay of Three Rivers; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Monday Sep. 16, 2013 at the funeral home with Ken’s brothers officiating. Burial will follow in Mendon Cemetery. Memorials will be directed to the family.
