Henry Stauffer, 85

Henry J. Stauffer, age 85, of Centreville, passed away Friday, September 20, 2013 at Three Rivers Health. He was born in Nottawa Township, February 14, 1928, a son of Joseph and Lizzie (Bontrager) Stauffer. On September 21, 1950 Henry married Bertha Bontrager in Nottawa Township. He operated Stauffer Construction for 40 years and previously worked at Wheel Camper. Henry was an avid outdoorsman, fishing, hunting and trapping. He also enjoyed golf, horseshoes, bowling and was a member of pool leagues. Henry looked forward every year to the fair and parking cars for the past 35 years.

Surviving are his wife Bertha Stauffer, daughters Lena Gregory of Carry, NC, Ruth (Wayne) Garratt, Sydney, Australia, sons Orla (Rhonda) Stauffer, Schoolcraft, Thomas (Debbie) Stauffer, Sturgis, William (Jodie) Stauffer, Marcellus, son in law Roger Jones, Kalamazoo,14 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren with 2 on the way, sister in law Betsy Stauffer, Sterling, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Phyllis Jones on July 30, 2013, and brothers David, Ernest, Harley, Melvin and Clarence.

Relatives and friends will be received Monday 4 – 8 pm at Eley Funeral Home in Centreville, where Religious Services will be held 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, with Elder Bill Hochstetler officiating.
