Bette Lisek, 84

Former South Bend, Ind. resident Bette Eleanor Lisek, 84, of Three Rivers, died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013 in her residence. Mrs. Lisek was born Jan. 27, 1929 in South Bend, Ind. to the late Effie (Burkhart) and Fredrick H. Burke and had lived in Three Rivers since 1989 coming from Dearborn Heights. On June 18, 1949 in South Bend as Bette E. Burke she married Steven L. Lisek who preceded her in death Oct. 31, 2010.

She is survived by two daughters, Karen Webber (James) and Maribeth Marlow (David) both of Knoxville, Tenn.; one son, Michael Lisek (Doreen) of Gahanna, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Beth Mundy (Patrick), Blair Webber (Jessica), Kristen, Alison, Jessica, and Jacob Lisek, and Drew and Mathew Marlow; one great-grandson, Silas Mundy; and two brothers, George Burke (Sylvia) of Fountain Hills, Ariz. and Ronald Burke of South Bend, Ind.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24 in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Rd., South Bend, Ind. with Rev. Douglas Webber officiating. Committal services and burial will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind.

Memorial contributions may be made to the YWCA of North Central Indiana, 1102 S. Fellows St., South Bend, IN, 46601 to help fight domestic violence and empower women.
