Lois Marie Johnson, age 84, of Three Rivers, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2009 at the Sunshine House following a brief illness. She was born in Coosa County, Alabama on Oct. 2, 1924 the daughter of James C. and Pricella (Daniel) Ezekiel.
Mrs. Johnson and her late husband, Bertrand were united in marriage on Sept. 4, 1944 and resided for many years in Tinley Park, IL. where Lois was a cook for the Tinley Park High School for many years, prior to that she worked as a switchboard operator.
Mrs. Johnson was an avid crafter and a very talented artist. She made quilts for all her grandchildren, enjoyed oil painting, was an excellent seamstress, and also crocheted. She was an excellent self taught cook and loved cooking for all of her family and friends to enjoy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bertrand, and nine siblings.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving family, daughter, Cheryl (Ron) Grotovsky, of Mokena, IL. and their children, Vicky Solomon and Sherri Aikin; daughter, Phyllis (Bill) Campbell, of Sturgis, MI. and their children, Brett and Brenda Staecker; one son, Steve (Sheila) Johnson, Jones, MI.; and their children, Shane, Eric, Ceth, and Stephanie Johnson. Sixteen great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2009 at the Hohner Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at the Hohner Funeral Home, with Pastor Alan Stadelman officiating.
Interment will be held in Poe Cemetery, Newberg Twp., MI.
Memorials may be donated to the charity of one’s choice.
