Lillian Dentler, 90

Lillian “Lillie” Dentler, 90, of Three Rivers, passed away peacefully on Oct. 17, 2013 at Riverview Manor. She was born in Jones, on May 22, 1923 the daughter of the late Frank and Cecil (Loveland) Sherry.

She attended Jones one room school, was married to Roy Hurt in 1942; they were later divorced. She married the late Riley Dentler in 1955 and together they raised a combined family of 12 children.

Lillian worked as a homemaker and at a variety of farm related jobs. She loved working in the kitchen at Dolly’s Red Garter Restaurant in Jones best. Lillian enjoyed playing bingo, cooking, sewing, and camping with family and friends. “Lillie” spent the last five years of her life as a resident of Riverview Manor. While there, she made many wonderful friends and enjoyed harassing the staff. Her sassy personality will be missed by us all.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four sisters and two brothers, two stepdaughters, a stepson, and several grandchildren.

She is survived by her stepchildren, Carol Roe of Centreville, June (Roger) Hammond of Anna, Ohio, Larry (Fern) Dentler of Sherwood, Doug (Patty) Dentler of Three Rivers and her children, Hazel (Bob) Crosbie of Jones, Jane (Roy) Manewal of Three Rivers, Mitzie (Jim) Wheeler of Three Rivers, Emily Little of Hart, Roy (Maryann) Hurt of Newark, Ohio.

A memorial service will be held later. Memorial contributions may be made to Riverview Manor, Three Rivers, activities department.
