Ethan Stienbarger, 23

Ethan Clark “Steve” Stienbarger, age 23, of Mendon died on Saturday Oct. 26, 2013. He was born in Kalamazoo, MI on Jan. 7, 1990 the son of Randy and Betty (Wilds) Stienbarger and was a lifetime resident of Mendon. He graduated from Mendon High School in 2008 where he was active in track, cross country and the wrestling programs. He later attended Kalamazoo Valley Community College. He worked briefly at Morgan-Olsen in Sturgis and for the past three years at I.A.C. in Mendon. His hobbies included running and hunting.

Ethan is survived by his mother, Betty Stienbarger and her companion, Tod Chapman; his father Randy Stienbarger; sister, Jessica (John) Stratton; brother, Scott “Buck” Stienbarger; nephew, Jordan Stratton; nieces, Trinity and Mariah Stratton; paternal grandmother, Maxine Stienbarger; special friends, Samantha Fassett and Justin “Jay” McClish all of Mendon; many aunts and uncles including Linda & Kenneth Wilds, Celia & Jim LaBenne, Elaine & Brian Mervau, Susan & Tony Counelis, Lloyd & Laura Wilds, Wayne & Sandy Wilds, Pam & Tom Kline; and by many cousins. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Lloyd & Joyce Wilds and Wayne Stienbarger; and by uncles Kenneth Wilds and Bradley Stienbarger.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 29, 2013 at Crossroads Missionary Church with Rev. Rodger Moyer and Rev. Bryan Balasa officiating. Cremation will follow services and a private interment of ashes will take place later. It is suggested that memorials be directed to the Mendon High School Track and Cross-Country Programs.
