Wayne Outman, 90

Wayne Edward Outman, age 90, of Leonidas, died Saturday Nov. 23, 2013 at his home. He was born on March 20, 1928 the son of Lloyd Edward and Elda Marie Krum (Hagelgans) Outman and has been a lifetime resident of Leonidas. Wayne graduated from Colon High School in 1941. He joined the U.S Marine Corps in 1941 and served in the Pacific as part of the occupation of Japan and China before his discharge in 1946. He was a member of the Leonidas Bible Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendant. Wayne was a livestock dealer and farmer and was co-owner of Outman Brothers, Inc. in Leonidas.

Wayne was married to Carol Jean (Kauffman-Schrock)) Outman on April 26, 1969 in Middlebury. She survives along with a son, Mark (Carolyn) Schrock of White Pigeon; two daughters, Robin D. (Daniel) Shoup of Middlebury, IN and Anita J. (Steven) Buscher of Centreville; five grandchildren, Amanda(Kyle) English, John Shoup, Emily Schrock, Sydney Herman, and Brittney Buscher; a great-grandson, Theodore English; two brothers, Lyle Outman and Stanley Outman; two sisters, Ardis Barnebee and Arlene Collins; many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Harold, Leroy, and Leon Outman; and a sister, Doris Meyer.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday Nov. 27, 2013 at the funeral home with Revs. David Farrell, Curtis Bennett, and Paul Briggs officiating. Military interment will be in Leonidas Cemetery.
