Millage passes in Centreville

Members of the Centreville Public Schools Board of Education joined district administrators Monday and thanked the community for its Nov. 5 support in passing a $12.8 million request for building improvements district wide.

Monday’s meeting was the first since the 2.95-mill request was approved, 351-to-226.

Superintendent Rob Kuhlman said the board and the millage committee worked hard to promote the matter and make the public aware of what was at stake with the request. Board members, in turn, thanked Kuhlman for his commitment to the issue and for overseeing a quartet of community gatherings staged to provide more details about the vote.

Kuhlman said plenty of work is ahead and he expects district officials to meet next month with project engineers to map out a timeframe for the impending improvements to Centreville Elementary and Centreville junior/senior high schools.
