Maurice Brueck, 84

Maurice William Brueck, 84, of Nottawa, went to be with his Lord on December 8, 2013. Maurice was born July 13, 1923 in Wasepi, the sixth of nine children of Lewis and Irene (Henrich) Brueck. He lived most of his life in St. Joseph County, namely in Nottawa.

Maurice attended schools in Wasepi, and Nottawa Michigan. He worked as a Fire Ranger in Helena Montana, Constantine Creamery, and retired as a truck driver from Viking Recreational Vehicles in Centreville. He was a United States Army Veteran.

Maurice loved to travel. He had visited 48 of the 50 states. He collected auto license plates from each state, which he displayed. He also had license plates from several foreign countries that friends and relatives would bring or send to him.

His parents and siblings Lorene, Lloyd, Kenneth, Doris, Paul, and Robert preceded him.

He is survived by his brother Eugene (Janet) Brueck of Sturgis, sisters, Marjorie Gay, of Sturgis and Betty James of Lansing, Mich.

Relatives and friends will be received Tuesday, December 10, 2013 from 2-4 and 4-8 pm, at the Eley Funeral Home in Centreville. Religious services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday December 11, 2013 at 11 am. Burial will be in the Prairie River Cemetery in Centreville. His nephews will act as pallbearers.
