29th Walk For Warmth

The Community Action Agency of St. Joseph County has issued a media release providing advance notice about its 29th Walk for Warmth event.

Nancy Percival, CAA board member, said the fundraiser will take place Feb. 22. It will take place simultaneously in six communities in St. Joseph, Barry, Branch and Calhoun counties.

A fundraising goal of $50,000 has been set.

Percival said the agency is requesting local businesses to consider donating prizes for potential participants. She said the lure of prizes tends to draw more participants, whose efforts will help provide emergency money for people whose electrical services are in danger of being cut.

Community Action is a 501 (c) 3, non-profit organization. Donations to the agency are tax-deductible.
