Philip G. Clipfell, age 80, of Colon, passed away, Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family.
Philip was born May l, 1933, in Three Rivers, a son to the late Wyman and Ruth (Pridgeon) Clipfell.
Philip had made his home in Colon all his life, graduating from Colon High School with the Class of 1950.
On July 14, 1951, he married Louise Framces Drumhiller in Athens, and they shared 62 years together.
Philip had worked for Harter Corporation in Sturgis, for 34 years. He was a member of the Colon Masonic Lodge #73 F&AM where he had served as Master in 1974 & 2004, also served as secretary, and was Mason of the year in 2006 and also was a life time member of the Three Rivers Eagles. Phil enjoyed time spent with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Clipfell of Colon; eight children, Ty (Sharon) Clipfell of Colon, Timothy Clipfell of Colon, Lorelei Blair of Nottawa, Katrina (Doren) Smith of Colon, Corby (Roberta) Clipfell of Bronson, Rowdy (Tammy) Clipfell of Colon, Thad (Lovina) Clipfell of Colon and Jody Clipfell & James Goad of Colon; 25 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many foster grandchildren; brother, Donald ( Darlene) Clipfell of White Pigeon; brother-in-law and wife Junior & Florence Drumhiller of Colon; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three grandchildren, Philip G. Clipfell II, Samantha S. (Clipfell) Prowett and Betsy L. Clipfell; one great-grandson; sister, Barbara Jacobs; and brother, Loring Clipfell.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Schipper Funeral Home LTD. in Colon, with a Masonic Service taking place at 8 p.m. with the Colon Masonic Lodge #73 presiding. Funeral Services celebrating the life of Philip G. Clipfell will be Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, at 1 p.m. from the funeral home with Pastor Randy Evans and Mr. David J. Farrell officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Colon.
