Carolyn Holtom, 88

Carolyn Marjorie Holtom, 88, died Dec. 4 in St. Charles, Ill., after a long illness. Marjorie was born Aug. 26, 1925 in Three Rivers to Charles and Ethel (Kelsey) Holtom. She graduated from Three Rivers High School, received her Bachelor of Science degree from Western Michigan University and her Master’s and Ph.D. in Counseling from the University of Michigan.

During her career Marjorie served as assistant director of occupational therapy at the U.S. Naval Hospital, Great Lakes, Ill. and assistant professor in occupational therapy at Eastern Michigan University and the University of Michigan Medical Center. A long-time resident of Chadron, Neb., she was Associate Dean of Students at Chadron State College for many years, then worked as a local real estate broker. Marj especially enjoyed her friends, travel, music, dogs and life on her Nebraska ranch. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.

She is survived by her brother Frank (Becky) of Appalachicola, Fla., and was preceded in death by her sisters Marion and Harriet. Memorials may be sent to the American Occupational Therapy Association. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, April 5 at 2 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church.
