State Rep. Matt Lori has announced two transportation-improvement projects that will take place in in the 59th House District.
Lori said a special legislative allocation to improve Michigan’s roads and bridges will be used for the projects that involve resurfacing a portion of M-86 west of Centreville, and rebuilding the North River Road bridge over Mill Creek in Constantine Township.
The M-86 project will cost $800,000. The bridge improvements, which entail replacing large triple culverts with a bridge, will cost $1 million.
As part of the fiscal year 2014 budget, the Legislature created the special fund using $230 million in existing state revenue. One-half of the funds were available for appropriation on Oct. 1, and the other half could be appropriated for roads next year.
