Mitch Breece, 53

Mitchell John “Mitch” Breece, age 53, of Three Rivers, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013 at his home following a courageous and hard fought battle with cancer. He was born on January 19, 1960 in Three Rivers, the son of the late Phillip Edwin and Charolette (Smith) Breece.

Following his schooling in Three Rivers, Mitch entered the U.S. Army from 1978 until 1982. He spent a seven year period in Louisiana following his military career. Upon returning to Three Rivers, Mitch began employment at Metal Technologies formerly Docks Foundry where he worked for over 23 years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and took great pride in caring for his home and its surroundings. All those that knew Mitch will miss his great smile and sense of humor.

Mitch leaves to cherish his loving memory, one son, Derrick Tyler Breece, of Louisiana; three sisters, Kathy Hemenway, Beth (Tim) Ash, and Colleen (Tim) Lewis, all of Three Rivers; three aunts, Janet Jarratt, Pat (Bob) Hames, Carol (Bob) Tuesley, Kay Breece, and Carolyn Breece; as well as a host of nieces and nephews and five grandchildren.

Visitation and a light luncheon will be held from 10:30a.m. until the time of memorial services at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at the Hohner Funeral Home.

Because of Mitch’s great love of animals, the family asks that Pet Food can be brought to the funeral home on Saturday, January 4, 2013 from 9:00a.m. -3:00p.m. to be left in a special trailer and donated to the Animal Rescue Fund of St. Joseph County (A.R.F).
