Michelle Dawn Jarratt, age 54, of Sturgis, Mich., and formerly of Constantine, Mich., passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at her home.
She was born May 22, 1959, in Three Rivers, Mich., a daughter to the late William Dennis Poorman and Lorna (Shears) Stahl.
Michelle was a homemaker and enjoyed decorating, playing cards, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are two daughters, Lindsay Poorman of Fremont, Ind., and Melissa Slaybaugh of Elkhart, Ind.; six grandchildren, Collin Bradley, Catelyn Bradley, Rileigh Poorman, Ashton Harrington, Nereida Martinez, and Nohelia Delgado; father, William Dennis Poorman of Sturgis;two sisters, Billie Wells of Sturgis, Mich., and Shannon Stahl of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her mother; stepfather, Robert Stahl; brother, Todd Caywood; two sisters, Pamela Jean and Valorie Kay Poorman.
According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at the Capt. John J. Kelley V.F.W. Post #1355, 264 W. Fawn River Road, Sturgis. Memorial donations may be directed to Hackman Family Funeral Home – Hackman Chapel, P.O. Box 9, Sturgis, MI 49091 to help with expenses.
