Laura Krontz, 75

Laura Lee Krontz, age 75, of Burr Oak, passed away Friday morning, Jan. 10, 2013, at Three Rivers Health.

She was born May 6, 1938, in Battle Creek, a daughter of the late Lloyd and Irene (Schrader) Leatherbery.

Laura resided in Burr Oak nearly her entire life. On May 22, 1954, she married Harold “Pat” Krontz in Centreville.

Laura was a bartender at the Burr Oak Lounge for many years and a home maker.

She was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles, dancing and loved mushroom hunting.

She is survived by her loving and dedicated husband of nearly 60 years, Harold “Pat” Krontz; two daughters, Joan Lung and LouAnn (Steve), Johnson both of Burr Oak; two sons, Gary Krontz and Daniel Krontz, both of Burr Oak; four grandchildren, Jamie Lung of Burr Oak, Scott (Angela) Krontz of Bronson, Sgt. Nathan (Amanda) Johnson, currently serving in the U.S. Army National Guard station in Kabul, Afghanistan, and Krysten (fiance Michael Oldenberg) Johnson of Burr Oak; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son-in-law, Jack Lung; a grandson, Todd Lung; and a great-grandson, Michael Lung.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m.Tuesday at Hackman Family Funeral Homes — Rosenberg Chapel, 807 E. Chicago Road, Sturgis.
