Lori Gwen Miller, age 51, of Sturgis, passed away Friday evening, Jan. 10, 2014, from injuries sustained in a house fire.
She was born August 6, 1962 in Sturgis, Michigan daughter of Lloyd G. and Vivian (Watson) Steiner.
Lori resided her whole life in Sturgis and she was a graduate of White Pigeon High School with the class of 1980.
She had been employed by the Multiplex Company in Howe, Ind., ARC Opportunities in LaGrange, Ind., and for 17 years by Ross Laboratories in Sturgis.
Lori was a member of Sturgis Missionary Church and she enjoyed camping, mushroom hunting and northern Michigan. Lori had a true love and appreciation for animals, especially her dogs, cats and horses.
She is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Gregory Miller; her mother, Vivian Steiner of Sturgis; a brother, Brent (Cathy) Steiner of Leslie; three nieces, Jennifer Kline, Jessica Miller and Chloe Sturdivant; eight nephews, Jason Steiner, Jonathon Steiner, Brent Steiner, Brandon Steiner, Benjamin Miller, Nicholas Miller, Timothy Miller and Dylan Sturdivant; her mother-in-law, Phyllis Miller of LaGrange, Indiana; a sister-in-law, Dawn (Frank) Sturdivant of Wolcottville, Ind.; a brother-in-law, Clifford (Esther) Miller of Scott, Ind., and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Steiner; her father-in-law, LeRoy Miller; a sister, Grace Hammond; and a brother, Wayne Steiner.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends and share a meal and fellowship from noon-1:45 p.m. Saturday at Sturgis Missionary Church, 67087 N. M-66 in Sturgis. A memorial service celebrating the life of Lori G. Miller will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church. The Revs. Bob Renner and Dale Gerig will officiate. A graveside committal of the ashes will follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
