Customers and others are rallying behind a northern Indiana supermarket where a gunman killed a customer and an employee before police fatally shot him. About 300 people gathered for a prayer vigil Saturday night in front of the Martin’s Super Market in Elkhart where the shootings occurred. Customer Adam Bujalski tells The Elkhart Truth that it’s important for him that the community to show support for the store. The two police officers who responded to the shooting, corporals Jason Tripp and Cody Skipper, attended the vigil and were applauded and cheered by the crowd. The Goshen News reports many of the crowd stood in line to sign their names or write short messages on two posters with pictures of the victims, 20-year-old employee Krystle Dikes and 44-year-old Rachelle Godfread.
