Brandon Terris Smith, age 28, of Sturgis, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, in Sturgis.
He was born Nov. 13, 1985, in LaGrange, Ind., a son of Terry and Brenda (Conley) Smith.
Brandon was a lifelong Sturgis resident and a graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 2004. He continued his education at the Universal Technical Institute in Chicago, graduating in 2006.
On March 7, 2009, he married Casey Jo McDonald in Las Vegas.
Brandon was employed by Banks Hardwood in Mottville and co-owner, with his father, of Bad Boys Pro Shop at the Sturgis Bowl in Sturgis and Bronson Strike Zone in Bronson. He also worked at Jett in Middlebury, Ind.
Brandon was currently the coach of the Sturgis High School boys’ varsity bowling team. He was a talented and gifted bowler, accomplishing four perfect 300 games and three 800 series. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved playing softball.
He is survived by his wife, Casey Jo; his parents, Terry and Brenda Smith of Sturgis; a brother, Corey (Mary Kathryn) Smith of Birmingham, Ala.; two nieces, Kaylee Smith of Alabama and Raven Smith of North Carolina; grandparents Vonda Smith of Sturgis and Tinia and Floyd Bolton of Wolcottville, Ind.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Sturgis Wesleyan Church, 907 N. Nottawa St., Sturgis. Funeral services celebrating the life of Brandon Smith will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church. The Rev. Bob Renner of Sturgis Missionary Church will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at the Orange Cemetery in Rome City, Ind.
Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa Sturgis, is entrusted with the arrangements.
