Mary Arzella Wittenberg, age 85, of Constantine, returned home on Sunday, February 9th, 2014 at Three Rivers Health. She was born on August 13, 1928 a daughter of Jacob and Gladys (Pierce) Kuhn in Detroit. Mary graduated from Constantine High School with the class of 1947. On May 1, 1948 she married Elmer Leon Wittenberg at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Centreville. He preceded her in death May 9, 1996. Mary was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Surviving are her daughters Lorna (Denny) Bowen, Mendon, Tanya Kline, Constantine, Sibyl (Don) Hocevar, Mendon, Wendy (Bob) Featherstone, Constantine, son, Virgil (Barbara) Wittenberg, Constantine, sister Alice (Jack) Mann, Centreville, 17 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father Herman Neff, husband, son Terry Wittenberg, and brothers Douglas and John Kuhn.
Relatives and friends will be received Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Eley Funeral Home in Constantine. Religious Services will be held Friday February 14 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Robert Nystrom of Mendon United Methodist Church officiating.
