Cyrus Thomas Stevenson Jr., age 74, of Three Rivers passed away on Friday, February 7th, 2014 at his home. He was born on March 17, 1939 in Janesville, Wisconsin the son of the late Cyrus and Mary (Schloemer) Stevenson Sr.
Mr. Stevenson’s family moved to Three Rivers in 1941 and Cyrus graduated from Three Rivers High School. In 1958 he married Wanda Jaco. He worked for the Continental Can Company until it closed and then for a short time at Morton Building’s. Cy spent most of his career at Armstrong Machine Works where he retired. Not wanting to sit still, Cy worked for the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church as their building and grounds manager.
Mr. Stevenson was an avid outdoors man. He loved to deer hunt, ice fish, and play golf. Cy loved to attend garage sales and auctions, and was often found tinkering with his “treasures” in his garage. Cy had more “toys” than the average child.
Mr. Stevenson was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Maureen Willma.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his wife, Sherry Diane (Krepel) Stevenson, of Three Rivers; one son, Cyrus (Sandy) III, of Three Rivers; one daughter, Patricia (Brian) Corwin, of Jackson, MI.; three step-sons, Jeff and Joseph Hutson, both of Three Rivers, and Dale (Patty) Hutson, of Colon; one sister, Katherine Stevenson, of Three Rivers and one brother, George (Patricia) Stevenson, of Sturgis, MI. Several grandchildren and one great-grandson Wesley Stevenson. Many nieces and nephews and a very special nephew Cy spent many hours with, Marc Willma.
Per Mr. Stevenson’s request, cremation has taken place. Private family services will be held at a later date.
