Joseph Bungart, 39

Joseph J. Bungart, age 39 of rural Sturgis died Saturday Feb. 8, 2014 at his home. He was born in Three Rivers on Oct. 19, 1974 the son of Jack and Victoria (Cain) Bungart and was a lifetime resident of St. Joseph County. He attend both Three Rivers and Centreville Schools. Joseph enjoyed music and spending time with his friends and family. He was a member of Celebrate 1 Church of Sturgis.

Joseph is survived by his fiance, Michelle Merritt of Sturgis; a son, Edward Lee”Eddie” Bungart; and a child on the way; his mother, Victoria Hoyt of Three Rivers; his father Jack Bungart (Patty Brothers) of Centreville; two sisters, Jakki Bungart-Bibb (Jason) of Sturgis and Billi Potter (Brian) of Traverse City; several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles including Gene Cain; many friends including Rick Bowley.He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Lee Bungart; paternal grandmother, Pearl Weatherbee; maternal grandparents, Mary Ellen and Melvin Cain; and step-father, William Smithers.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Eickhoff Farrand Halverson Chapel in Three Rivers. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday Feb. 13, 2014 at the funeral home with Rev, Jerry Solis, Pastor of Celebrate 1 Church of Sturgis officiating. Cremation will follow services.
