Betty A. VanDeKeere, 81, of LaGrange, Ind., died Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Miller’s Merry Manor in LaGrange.
She worked at Transagram and as a cook at Miller’s Merry Manor. She lived her lifetime in LaGrange and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Betty was born on April 19, 1932, in LaGrange, to Raymond and Anna (Brown) Keplinger.
On Aug. 22, 1981, she married Frank E. VanDeKeere in LaGrange. He preceded her in death on Aug. 16, 2011.
Surviving Betty are three step-daughters, Barbara (George) Clouse of Sturgis, Mich.; Karen “Susie” Adams of Millersburg, Ind.; Frances (David) McCrory of Columbia City, Ind.; four step-sons, Edward (Mary) VanDeKeere of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; Michael VanDeKeere of LaGrange, Ind.; David (Florence) VanDeKeere of Topeka, Ind., and Scott (Anne) VanDeKeere of Indianapolis, Ind.; 16 step-grandchildren and 21 step-great grandchildren.
Preceding Betty in death are her parents; husband, Frank; sister, Juanita Kirkpatrick; and two brothers, Paul and Carl Dean Keplinger.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, LaGrange, Ind. The Father J Steele, CSC will officiate the Mass.
Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, LaGrange, Ind.
A visitation will take place at Frurip-May Funeral Home, 309 West Michigan St, LaGrange, Ind., on Wednesday, April 2, 2014, from 3-7 p.m. with a 5 p.m. Rosary Service.
Memorials may be contributed to the church.
