Mr. Elden Dale Neely, age 74, of Three Rivers, passed away on Monday, April 14th, 2014 at Three Rivers Health following a brief illness. He was born Oct. 2nd, 1939 in Three Rivers, MI., the son of Charles W. and Louella “Ella” (Estes) Neely.
Mr. Neely graduated from Three Rivers High School with the class of 1958 and worked for Neff’s Greenhouse. He later took courses as an electrician at Glen Oaks Community College and began work at Continental Can, Ward Aero, and eventually Three Rivers Commercial News as a Pressman retiring in 2003.
Mr. Neely was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Frances Neely.
Elden loved all things sports and followed baseball, especially the Detroit Tigers and football avidly, knowing all the players and their statistics. As a youngster, Elden played baseball and football and later in life enjoyed playing softball on the City League Team.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory his mother, Ella Neely, of Three Rivers; one brother, Richard (Delores) Neely, of Three Rivers and several extended family members.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 17th at the Hohner Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 18th, 2014 at the Hohner Funeral Home with Pastor Timothy Moore of Bethany Chapel officiating.
Interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery at a later date.
