Bob Hill, 93

Robert William Hill, age 93, of Three Rivers, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 24, 2014 at the Bowman House where he was residing. He was born on Aug. 8th, 1920 in Three Rivers, MI. the son of the late William A. and Ida M. (Nutting) Hill.

Mr. Hill honorably served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Army Infantry Regiment 75th Division during WWII, where he received two Bronze Stars. Bob was united in marriage to Harriett Fitch on Aug. 26, 1939 until she passed in 1994. He then wed Gladys Comeau in 1996 until her passing in 2005.

Mr. Hill has been a life resident of Three Rivers. He was employed by Eddy Paper as a printer and later retired from Johnson Corporation now (Kadent-Johnson) in machine repair. Bob was a life member of the American Legion Hice-Shutes Post #170 and V.F. W. Post #3019, Three Rivers Eagles #2303, U.S. Coast Guard Auxililary, St. Joseph Valley Boat Club. He enjoyed water skiing and dancing.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, and a step-daughter, Jean Slocum.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory, one son, Robert S. (Joann) Hill, of Tippecanoe, IN.; step-son, Raymond Comeau, of Wisconsin Dells, WI.; step-son, John Slocum, of Three Rivers; two grandchildren, Kevin Hill and Barbara (Tony) Ianello; four great-grandchildren, Sean and Tyler Hill, Courtney and Ashley Ianello, one step-grandson, Steven Comeau.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 28th, 2014 at the Hohner Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29th, 2014 at the Hohner Funeral Home with Mr. Rick and Nancy Leland officiating.

Interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery with Military Honors under the auspices of the American Legion Hice Shutes Post #170. Memorials may be donated to Three Rivers Hospice. Envelopes available at Hohner Funeral Home in care of arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.hohnerfh.com.
