Adkins obitNora May Adkins, 65, of White Pigeon, died at 6:18 p.m., on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at her residence of natural causes. She was born on May 2, 1949, in West Virginia, to Nolice and Erma (Bradshaw) Adkins. Surviving are two daughters, Terri (Jeff) Steiner of Jones and Rebecca (Tim) Chandler of Schoolcraft; a son, John (Amanda) Davis of Los Angeles, California; four grandchildren, Kody Chandler, Jeffery Steiner, Joseph Steiner and Ty Chandler; four step grandchildren, Sarah, Jamie, Lee and Billie; six sisters, her twin Nancy Faye Adkins of Wayne, West Virginia, Brenda Adkins of Shipshewana, Indiana, Bernice Wagner of Culloden, West Virginia, Edna Adkins of Texas, Erma Lynn (Mike) Conklin of Shipshewana, Indiana, Connie Lambert of Ohio; four special nieces, Cindy, Lori, Kim and Betina. She was preceded in death by her parents; step son, Billy Joe Davis II; brother, Herman Adkins and a special niece, Denise. She was a homemaker, hair stylist and devoted her life to her children and grandchildren and was a best friend to her twin sister. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main Street, Middlebury, Indiana. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 8, also at the funeral home. Burial will be in Scott Cemetery, Shipshewana, Indiana.
