Air quality good

A test measuring air quality in a section of the St. Joseph County Courthouse has found no measurable traces of hazardous particulates.

The finding in the courts building was presented earlier this month by county administrator Pat Yoder.

He said the report showed offices in the courthouse maintain a cool temperature during hot summer days, even when humidity is excessive. The humidity factor, however, is not a surprise but an area of concern, Yoder said.

T.J. Ward, the original engineer of the courts’ building system, will meet with county officials to figure out how to keep the air system from generating a high level of humidity, Yoder said.
