Maxine Mae McClain, age 72, of Three Rivers, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at her home. She was born on March 29, 1942 in Three Rivers the daughter of the late Carl Henery and Helen (Reist) Brown.
Maxine has been a lifetime resident of Three Rivers. She was employed for many years at Continental Can Co. before retiring. Maxine was also a district manager for the South Bend Tribune within our local area. Maxine enjoyed crocheting, reading, bird watching, and traveling with her late husband and family to Sault Ste. Marie. Her true passion in life were animals. She was very active with the Humane Society and her best friend was her dog “Benji”.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her late husband, Ernest “Ernie” McClain who passed in 2011.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory, one son, Jeff (Angie) Shupert, of Bradenton, FL.; two daughters, Kimberley (Timothy) Pelfrey and Cambi (Matt Brown) Shupert, both of Three Rivers. Step-son, Larry McClain, of Okeechobee, FL. Ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the time of services at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8th, 2014 at the Hohner Funeral Home, with Pastor Bob Anderson officiating.
Interment will be held in Constantine Cemetery.
