Elias Yoder, 70

Elias D. Yoder, age 70 years, 11 months and 1 day, of 30100 Marsh Road, Colon, died peacefully in his home Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014, after a lengthy illness.

He was born Sept. 26, 1943, in Ohio, a son of the late Dan A. andMary Ann (Miller) Yoder.

He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church and was a general laborer. He had lived most of his life in Nappanee, Ind. On Oct. 19, 1965, he marriedMary L. Miller.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Yoder; two sons, Elias Jr. (Deborah) Yoder of Ind., and Alfred (JoAnn) Yoder of Michigan; three daughters, Mary Katherine (Leroy) Troyer of Michigan, Rose Mary (Elva) Otto of Illinois and Mary Esther (David) Mosley of Ind.; sisters Clara (Omer) Mullet, Katie (Harley) Headings and Fannie Mae (Raymond) Hochstetler; a brother, Alvin (Alta) Yoder; 18 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and a step-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter; and a brother-in-law.

The family will receive relatives and friends after 1 p.m. Friday at the ErnestMiller residence, 70621 County Road 3, Nappanee, Ind. Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, at the Ernest Miller residence, with Bishops Leroy Borkholder and Lonnie Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Weldy Cemetery in Nappanee.

The family was assisted by Schipper Funeral Home in Colon.
