Donald Elmer Harris, age 92, of Centreville, passed away Sunday, August 31, 2014 at Heartland Health Care Center in Three Rivers. He was born in LaGrange, IN on June 26, 1922, a son of Donald and Mildred (Pearson) Harris. On July 19, 1975 he married Virginia Boyland, she preceded him in death. Don was a Foreman at Kirsch Company, retiring Dec. 31, 1982 after 40 years of service. He competed in the Kirsch bowling league and retiree league, was a former member of the Sturgis Moose Lodge, and loved going fishing.
Surviving Don are his daughter, Diana (James) Anderson, St. Joseph, grandchildren James P. (Rhonda) Wooster, Three Rivers, Jody (Linda) Wooster, Kendallville, IN, Jerry R. Wooster, and Josie (Jacob) Cossairt, Florida; six stepchildren; and very special friends Rob (Jessica) Hempel & boys. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Erma (Harris) Wooster, brothers, sister, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Relatives and friends will be received at the Eley Funeral Home in Centreville on Saturday at 11am-noon, with Memorial Services beginning at noon. Pastor David Peterson of Centreville Baptist Church will officiate. Interment of ashes will be in Calhoun Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Health Care Center 517 S.
