Tom Maiden, 77

Carl T. “Tom” Maiden, 77, of Three Rivers, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo after a period of declining health.

Tom was born in Greenville, N.C. on Aug. 29, 1937 to the late Carl and Virginia (Clarke) Maiden. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force, enlisting in 1954 and retiring as Staff Sergeant in 1976. After retiring from the Air Force, Tom went to work for the Unites States Postal Service for 20 years.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Janice (Attaya) Maiden; son, Tommy Maiden and daughter, Ginny Drafts. Survivors include his life-partner and soul mate, Darlene Britton; daughter, Theresa “Terri” (Jim) Cothran; step-daughters, Sherrie (Joe) Nowicki and Suzanne (Paul) Phillips; six grandchildren, Lauren (Marc) Silver, Morgan and Hunter Cothran, Matt and Alex Phillips, Ryan Nowicki and brother, Daniel (Marjorie) Maiden.

In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Tom’s memory may be given to his beloved church in Key West, Basilica of St. Mary Star of the Sea, 1010 Windsor Ln., Key West, FL 33040.
