Sophie Hahn, 77

Sophie HahnSophie A. Hahn, age  77, of Jones, passed away Sunday, September 14, 2014 at her home. She was born in Hammond, IN on May 5, 1937, a daughter of Stanley and Helen (Jasinkiewicz) Wojcik.  She graduated from Constantine High School in 1955, and received an Associates Degree from Southwestern Michigan College. On November 27, 1955 she married Raymond Hahn in Constantine. Sophie worked at Woodlands Behavioral Health Care Network in Cassopolis, retiring in 2010 after 29 years. She was a youth leader, Awanas leader, and member of Porter Baptist Church. Sophie was also a Jones Rough Rider 4-H leader for more than 40 years and was active in Constantine Schools Bible Release Program. Sophie loved being with her grandchildren.

Surviving Sophie are her daughters Kathy (Ken) Rose, Marcellus; Patty (Bill Snoderly) Balcom, Cassopolis; son Tery Hahn, Hastings;  grandchildren Kyle Rose, Kristin Rose, Morgan Balcom, Logan Balcom; and sisters, June (Ken) Heflin, Arizona; Marysia (Soren) Petersen, California. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Ken Hahn, and sister Diane Hires.

Relatives and friends will be received at Eley Funeral Home in Constantine Thursday from 6-8 PM, and Friday 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Religious Services will be Saturday at 11:00 AM at Porter Baptist Church, Pastor Randy Peterson officiating.  Interment will be at Poes Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Porter Baptist Church Youth Scholarship Program, Three Rivers Hospice, or Howardsville Christian School.
