Two people arrested on drug charges

Investigators from the St. Joseph County Area Narcotics unit executed a search warrant last week at a residence in Mottville Township.

According to a sheriff’s department press release, SCAN officers had received information about methamphetamine use and possible trafficking occurring on Riverside Drive, near Thomas Street.

Officers obtained a search warrant and once inside the residence Friday, located evidence of the use of methamphetamine and marijuana. The two occupants, whose names and ages were not disclosed in a department media release, were charged with possession and use of methamphetamine, possession and use of marijuana, and maintaining a drug house.

The Department of Human Services agency was also called to the scene for the removal of a child.
