Olley Roy Wise, Jr., age 84, of Three Rivers, died Monday, Oct. 27, 2014 at Heartland Health Care Center following a long illness. He was born in Fulton, MI on Nov. 25, 1929 the son of Olley R. and Jennie (Mellor) Wise. Olley attended schools in Fulton, Vicksburg, and Mendon. He was a life-long farmer and had worked for Everett Crotser and Eugene Schmidt. Olley was married to Barbara Jeane “Bobbie” Johnson on Feb. 7, 1955 in Lowell, MI. They resided in Mendon before moving to Centreville in 1993. Following his retirement, he enjoyed gardening, yard work, and spending time with his family.
Olley is survived by four children, Olley R. “Cork” (Bobbie) Wise of Constantine, John Wise of Sturgis, Richard (Barb) Wise of Centreville, and Debbie (Randy Hemenway) Wise of Three Rivers; five grandchildren, Melissa Radtke, CJ (Kim) Wise, Rick (Ryanne Taylor) Wise, Matthew and Jessica Wise; seven great-grandchildren, Kaylee Radtke, Dalton Bodenbach, Tyler, Brooke, Lyla, Rhylee, and RJ Wise; a brother, Raymond (Kay) Wise of Moorepark; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bobbie; four sisters, Alice, Mabel, Ethel, and Arlene; and a brother, Robert.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday Oct. 30, 2014 at the funeral home with Rev. Sandy Miller, Pastor of the Nottawa United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be ion Mendon Cemetery. Memorials will be directed to the family.
