Kathleen A. Kemp, 59, of White Pigeon, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014, at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, following an extended illness.
She was born Jan. 19, 1955, in Elkhart, Ind., a daughter of Keith D. and Phyliss Elaine (Kelly) Jellison. She spent her early life in Elkhart, later moving to Union and White Pigeon the past five years.
She was a graduate of Elkhart Memorial High School in 1973 and was employed by Elkhart General Hospital as a respiratory tech and in radiology. She was a para-pro at Baldwin Prairie School in Union and was last employed at White Pigeon High School. She enjoyed working with children, crafts, gardening and her two cats.
She was married to Dennis R. Kemp, and they were later divorced.
She is survived by two sons, Tyler J. Kemp of Union and Ryan R. Kemp of White Pigeon; a grandson, Kyle J. Kemp; three sisters, Cindy (Jim) Hart of Elkhart, Linda (Marvin) Lewis of Elkhart and Janice (Alan) VanDaele of Goshen, Ind.; a brother, David (Vicky) Jellison of Elkhart; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Relatives and friends may call from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday at Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon, where services are at 4 p.m. Wednesday. Donations may be directed to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
