Kenneth Paul Mann, age 91, formerly of Mottville, passed away Sunday, November 23, 2014, at Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis. He was born in Elkhart, IN on September 29, 1923, a son of Roland and Mary (Koebernik) Mann, Sr. Ken attended White Pigeon Schools and served in the U.S. Army as a Sgt during WW II. Ken met Gloria Horn on a blind date, and they were married June 26, 1948 in the Mottville Bible Church. She preceded him in death December 28, 2008. He retired from Bendix Corp. in South Bend, IN. and had previously worked at Elcona Trailer Mfg in Elkhart, and Manns Garage in Mottville. Ken remained an accomplished mechanic throughout his retirement. He attended Trinity Missionary Church. Ken enjoyed boating, camping and fishing. He was an avid outdoorsman and was a member of Muskegon Conservation Club.
Surviving Ken are his daughter, Melanie Mann, Sturgis; son, Randy (Cindy) Mann, White Pigeon, grandchildren Branden Mann, Benjamin Mann, Shea Hawley, Colin Hawley, Joshua Mann, Claudia Thompson and Edward Thompson, Jr. and great grandchild Jasper Mann. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Gloria, son David Mann, brothers Raymond and Roland Jr. and sister Dorthea “Toots” Burkey.
Relatives and friends will be received Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Eley Funeral Home in Constantine. Funeral Services will be Friday at Trinity Missionary Church at 9:00 AM with Pastor Terry Neumayer officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to your charity of choice.
